Méandre de Rouen

€30.44

The Seine and its typical meanders, series of curves on a river, crosses the city centre of Rouen. Like most large cities in the region, Rouen was built around the watercourses. The harbor of Rouen is still today the 1st European harbor for cereals and the 1st French one for flour and fertilizers. The meanders facilitating trade were also an asset facilitating invasions during the Middle Ages such as the multiple invasions and Viking occupations in the 900s. This photo, taken in the early morning from the city Panorama of Canteleu, offering us an astonishing view of Rouen waking up in the mist and back light from a sun that is slowly coming up.
