It is pretty hard to get close to a seal, this picture is the perfect reason for all these hours of training in freediving that I perform throughout the year. I had to stay 4 hours in the 8°Celsius water, with a lot of efforts and a lot of long apnea (from 1 to 4 minutes) at the bottom to gain confidence and be able to experienced a face-to-face with the common seal. One of the techniques I use when getting into water to find out if seals are nearby is to take two big rocks and hit them against each other. Be sure that with their curiosity if seals are within a range of one kilometre they will come to see what is happening. A good time in the waters of the Forillon National Park of Gaspé.
